"I don t believe we should bend the Constitution under any circumstance. It says what it says. We should do honor to it."
"When indeed shall we learn that we are all related one to the other, that we are all members of one body?"
"If we get a government that reflects more of what this country is really about, we can turn the century -- and the economy -- around"

"A very great vision is needed and the man who has it must follow it as the eagle seeks the deepest blue of the sky."
"The law of unintended consequences pushes us ceaselessly through the years, permitting no pause for perspective."
"I never considered a difference of opinion in politics, in religion, in philosophy, as cause for withdrawing from a friend."
"America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we faulter and loose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves."
The bitterest intolerance grows out of religious, racial and economic prejudices and differences of opinion. How long, O God, until we poor mortals will understand the folly of trying to destroy one another because we are of different religious beliefs and racial tendencies?
For me, it's about the way I carry myself and the way I treat other people. My relationship and how I feel about God and what He does for me, is something deeply personal. It's where I came from, my family, I was brought up in a religious household and that's very important to me.
I'm looking forward to influencing others in a positive way.
My message is you can do anything if you just put your mind to it.
Christian A. Martin
"The Constitution is more than our rights. It is a symbol of the ideals we embrace, and the values we hold essential. Without it, the government would go from a democracy to a dictatorship. It makes us realize just how lucky we are to have had founding leaders who truly cared if our government was governed by "we the people" and only "we the people". The constitution is us. It defines the will of the people as it is changed with the consenting democracy as a whole.
It doesn't matter if a person is black, white, brown, yellow or red; gay or straight; republican or democrat; poor or rich; or anything else. And it doesn't matter because thanks to the Constitution, there are no favorites. EVERYONE gets a fighting chance to be heard. The Constitution is one of the few things in our society where there is not much debate on if it should be followed or not, because we all agree, we don't care who you are or how you got here, you are an American citizen.
The Constitution is more than a chapter in history books, it is a chapter in democracy. We as a country hold the Constitution so true to our hearts that we hold Supreme Court hearings, protests, and political revolutions and breakthroughs to voice our concerns about the rights given in the Constitution, these are rights given in this all important document.
So, the next time you look at the Constitution of The United States of America, ask yourself this question: Just how lucky am I to have the guaranteed fundamental American as well as God given and human right to speak my mind, have a trial, open my home to those in battle only at my consent, publish my views, and most importantly know that I am part of something big. And that something is the freedom of America."
Joyce E. Barrie
Rosa Parks changed history by refusing to give up her seat on a city bus.
You can change history! First, ask yourself, "what can you do to make for a brighter America and a better world? " Next, ask yourself, "if not now, when?" Then spring into action and inspire others to do likewise.
